swinging Safari

(Trailer music not composed by Guy)

The Australian feature film Swinging Safari is about a teenager coming of age in a small Australian town during the 1970s when a 200-ton blue whale gets washed up on a local beach. It required a wide range of music from Guy which saw him working alongside his colleagues at Church Street Studios to produce in an eclectic collection of score and songs.

An energetic, irreverent, autobiographically inspired affair filled with key swapping, children running amok and a rotting 200-tonne whale, the film proves a mixed bag but, given the era on display, its messiness always feels appropriate. Sarah Ward
